Lobengula Miracle Centre
Purpose
Provide 3 key ingredients in the lives of the children of Lobengula:
Food, Education & Recreation.
LMC is a community football project in the Lobengula suburb of Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. Launched in 2014 it aims to keep boys in the neighbourhood off the streets by providing a dedicated grassroots football program.
The project does not just aim to have a social impact but also to give the players an outstanding football education from experienced coaches, so that they may compete well and thereby enjoy playing in the Bulawayo football league.
The performance element gives the LMC players direction during week, so that even during the bleakest of times they have something to look and work towards.
Anyone in the Lobengula neighbourhood can join an LMC team, which provides multiple age group teams, on ONE CONDITION. They MUST also attend school as long as they want play for LMC.
What we've done
LMC now boasts 190 registered players. They are spread across 6 teams of 30 registered players each and are supported by a group of 10 coaches.
LMC has a U13, U15, U17, U18, U20 and U21 team.
LMC provides food and drink on training and match days, playing kit, footballs, training materials, transportation to match venues, association and referee fees as well as a maintained playing pitch.
